Why Do PCB Need to be Baked?

图片
Due to the existence of water molecules in the air, if the PCB is exposed to the air for a long time, the external moisture may enter the PCB board, and the purpose of baking is to remove moisture, and evaporate the excess moisture in the PCB by heating.       If the content of water molecules in the PCB exceeds the relevant regulations, in the process of high temperature reflow soldering, wave soldering or hand soldering, these internal water molecules will be heated and atomized into water vapor will expand rapidly as temperature rises. The higher the temperature, the larger the atomization volume. When the water vapor cannot escape from the PCB in time, it is likely to expand the PCB, thereby breaking the via holes between the PCB layers, causing the separation of the layers of the PCB. In severe cases, blistering, expansion, and board explosion can be seen from the outside of the PCB.     Sometimes the above problems cannot be seen on th...

Why do PCB Need Panelization?

图片
Generally, before PCB design or production,   a PCB  panelization   operation will be carried out , and after the processing is completed, it needs to be cut into   single board . So why do it?         The track of the SMT placement machine has a maximum and minimum size limit. When using 1 pcs smaller size PCB for processing, although it can sometimes pass the track of the placement machine, it wastes the capacity of the placement machine and the production efficiency is not high. However, if there are 10pcs, 20pcs, etc. single PCB in the panel, th is will not only improve the welding efficiency of the patch, but also only need to pass the placement machine once to complete the welding of multiple PCB.     After the PCB processing is complete, a lot of testing needs to be done.  Such as burn-in test, programming test, ICT test, signal test, etc.   Then it has more circulation time in the production w...

What are the Characteristics of Halogen-free PCB?

图片
According to JPCA-ES-01-2003 standard: Copper clad laminates with chlorine (C1) and bromine (Br) contents less than 0.09% Wt (weight ratio) respectively (at the same time, the total amount of CI+Br  ≤  0.15% [1500PPM]) are defined as halogen-free copper clad laminates.  So what are the characteristics of halogen-free PCB?   1.   Environmental  P rotection Halogen-free PCB  board realizes environmental protection and non-toxicity of PCB by replacing or replacing harmful elements.     2.  F lame  R etardant Most of the halogen-free materials are mainly phosphorus -based   and phosphorus - nitrogen -based .   The polymer resin containing phosphorus and nitrogen compounds will form a carbonized film when it is burned, which can isolate the burning surface of the resin from contact with the air, so that the fire can be extinguished and the flame retardant effect can be achieved.     3. ...

What is the Difference Between Solder Mask Ink and Cover Film?

图片
Have you ever encountered difficulties in choosing solder mask ink and cover film when designing PCB?  Both the solder mask ink and the cover film have the function of protection and insulation.  Do you know the difference between solder mask ink and cover layer?     Solder mask inks are generally green, black, white, red, yellow, blue, etc. Cover film are generally yellow, black and white. Compared with the cover film, the solder mask ink can have more choices in color, which can meet the color requirements. Black has good shading properties and white has high reflectivity. White solder mask ink is used for LED backlight, which is more common in flexible boards.   The solder mask ink has thin thickness, low insulation strength and poor bending performance. It is suitable for PCBs that require thinness and low flexibility. The cover film has thick thicker, good bending performance, high protection and insulation strength, and is suitable for PCBs with high insul...
