The Difference between PCB and PWB

  The difference between PCB and PWB:

  PWB:Based on insulating substrate, it means a kind of products on which the wires are connected from point to point on a dielectric substrate in a predetermined design. However, there is no printed component on it.PWBs are the early name of the British, because at that time there were only circuit diagrams on the circuit board, but no printed components. So they belonged to the more primitive board. Under its effect, now many traditional British and some Hong Kong people still call the circuit board to be PWB, which is the English abbreviation of Printed Wire Board.


  In general, the PCBs are the boards already equiped with various components, however the PWB is just a designed substrate with no components. It can be seen from this that the difference between them is quite obvious.


  In addition, when we search for the keyword “PCB” on the Internet, it is also automatically matched the “PWB”. In the encyclopedia of the circuit board, its name is: PCB, PWB, aluminum PCB, high frequency PCB, thick copper PCB, etc. It can be seen that the PWB is already contained in the PCB. But from a substantive point of view, they are also the same product. So no matter in the industry or outside, both titles are ok.
