Why Does SMT Have the Problem of Throwing Materials

SMT throwing materials mainly refers to that during the SMT placement processing, the placement machine does not stick the components to the designated position after sucking the materials, but throws the components to the throwing box or other places, or does not suck the materials, so above throwing action is performed.

1. Nozzle problem
The nozzle of the placement machine is deformed, blocked, etc., which leads to insufficient air pressure, air leakage, etc., which leads to the failure of normal suction and incorrect taking out material, and finally, resulting in the failure of the final identification, so the throwing phenomenon occurs.
Solution: Clean and replace the nozzle of the placement machine.
2. Identify system problems
What causes the recognition system of the SMT processing placement machine to fail to recognize? For example, the laser lens is polluted, debris interferes with recognition, improper selection of light source, insufficient intensity or grayscale, or the recognition system is damaged.
Solution: Clean the surface of the recognition system, keep the camera clean and free from debris, etc., adjust the intensity and grayscale of the light source, and replace the damaged parts if the recognition system is damaged.
3. Location problem
The material is not taken from the center position of the material, and the height of taking material is not correct, resulting in deviation, which leads to the discrepancy with the corresponding data parameters during identification, and is discarded as invalid material by the identification system.
Solution: Adjust the taking materials position.
4. Vacuum problem
Insufficient air pressure is usually a blockage of the vacuum air line passage. When the air pressure is insufficient, it is impossible to take out the material normally, and usually it will not be taken up or it will fall off on the way to stick after picking up.
Solution: Adjust the air pressure steep slope to the required air pressure value of the equipment, clean the air pressure pipeline, and repair the leaking gas path.
5. Program problem
The parameter setting of the component edited by the placement program is wrong, which does not match the actual size, brightness and other parameters of the incoming materials, resulting in the identification failing and being thrown out.
Solution: Modify component parameters and search for the optimal component parameter settings .
6. Incoming materials problem
Unqualified incoming materials are unqualified products such as pin oxidation.
Solution: Before placement processing, IQC should do a good job of testing the incoming materials, and contact the component suppliers in time.
7. Feeder problem
The position of the feeder is deformed, the feeding of the feeder is poor, and the feeder is damaged. For example: the ratchet gear of the feeder is damaged, the tape hole is not stuck on the ratchet gear of the feeder, there is a foreign object under the feeder, the spring is aging, or the electrical is bad. The material is thrown due to failure to get the material or bad material .
Solution: Adjust the feeder, clean the feeder platform, replace the damaged parts or feeder.
