The Difference between Double-sided Circuit Board and Multilayer Circuit

 Most people cannot tell the difference between a double-sided circuit board and a multilayer circuit board with the naked eye. If you do not carefully distinguish the appearance of a double-sided circuit board and a multilayer circuit board, you cannot distinguish between them, because their appearance is basically the same. Someone may ask: Isn't a multilayer circuit board multi-layered? How does it look like it's just a wooden board? Why is the price so much higher?



In fact, the number of layers of the multilayer circuit board is shown in the inner layer. 1-2 layer board, 1 layer is called single board, 2 layer is called double-layer board, 3-48 layer is called multi-layer board. The higher the number of layers, the higher the unit price, because the inner layers are to be pressed together. The pressing process has a high technical content, and in terms of machinery, the price of renting or buying the machine is relatively high. It is not cost-effective to buy the machine, after all, it is high-tech, and subsequent maintenance is very difficult. Technical content equals cost. As we all know, the quality requirements of multilayer circuit boards are very strict. If there is a little scrap in the previous process, then the regular PIN of the entire pcs will be scrapped. If it is scrapped in the later process, if there is a little quality abnormality, the previous process will be nothing.



So, how to distinguish whether the finished product is an ordinary double-sided board or a multilayer circuit board?


1. Double-sided board there are circuit and ink on both sides;


2. There is no circuit on the double-sided board, it is pure sheet, pure glass fiber;


3. The more layers, the larger the shadow in the sheet;


4. Multilayer circuit boards usually use KB material, which is relatively smooth, especially when cleaning after molding and processing;


5. Faint shadows can be seen on the multilayer circuit board, a bit dim, if the circuit is very dark, you can see the circuit.


6. If the board is stamping die, you can insert the edge of the board with your hand to make the board smoothly recognized;


7. The above conditions can only distinguish the obvious difference between double-sided boards and multilayer boards. If you want to know how many layers the circuit board has, you can only check the drawing records of the MI or R&D engineer of the circuit board manufacturer for accurate data.
