High TG PCB: A Reliable Partner for Automotive Engines

With the continuous advancement and development of automotive technology, electronic systems are being used more and more widely in automobiles. Many key components in automobiles, such as the engine control unit (ECU), power management system, and sensors, rely on high-performance PCBs. Among them, high TG PCBs play a vital role in automotive engines due to its excellent high-temperature resistance.

What is High TG PCB?

When the temperature rises to a certain critical value, the PCB substrate will change from a glass state to a rubber state. The critical value of this temperature is the TG value. High TG PCBs refer to those circuit boards whose glass transition temperature is higher than that of regular PCBs. Usually, the TG value of standard PCBs is around 130, while the TG value of high TG PCBs is 170℃ or even higher.

Application of High TG PCB in Automotive Engines

When an automotive engine is running, it will generate extremely high temperatures, which places strict demands on the heat resistance of the electronic components in the car. Conventional PCBs cannot operate in such high-temperature environments for long periods of time because they will warp, age, or even fail over time. This not only affects the cars performance of the car, but may also cause serious safety hazards.

The emergence of high TG PCBs solves this problem well. Due to their high glass transition temperature, high TG PCBs can maintain stable performance in high-temperature environment and is not easy to deform and age. This enables them to operate reliably in automotive engine compartments and other high-temperature areas, providing strong support for automotive electronic systems.

Advantages of High TG PCB

1. High Temperature Resistance: High TG PCBs can withstand higher operating temperatures, avoiding deformation and aging in high-temperature environments. For example, they can work stably in environments above 170, while conventional PCBs may fail at around 130.

2. Strong Stability: In high-temperature environment, high TG PCBs can still maintain its electrical and mechanical properties, thus ensuring the stable operation of electronic equipment. This is especially important in an environment with large temperature fluctuations.

3. High Reliability: Based on their material properties, high TG PCBs have a longer service life, reducing repair and replacement costs due to circuit board failures. Especially in fields with high reliability requirements such as automotive and aerospace, the application of high TG PCB is particularly important.

4. Wide Range of Applications: In addition to the automotive industry, high TG PCBs are also widely used in aerospace, industrial control, high-performance computing and other fields that require high-temperature resistance.
